NaPoWriMo Day 11

So we’re participating in NaPoWriMo and the optional prompt for Day 11 (yesterday)  was as follows:

“Today, rather than being casual, I challenge you to get rather classically formal, and compose a poem in Sapphics.”

Ok having forgotten what a Sapphics poem was we had to turn to Google for guidance. Once we got a quick refresher we were off to write one… and once the realization set in that we were still clueless I took a shot (a very short shot) at it anyway….and here’s what I came up with-

before reading this, keep in mind that laughter is good for the soul and we got a belly full off this feeble attempt at writing~~~

Fast is the man who runs the dash

Slow the person who goes the distance

Go Sir Johnson, Go and be seen and understand

Races aren’t always for runners
